ELIZABETH SWEETNAM IS TOP SEED BUT ...

STRATHTYRUM TITLE NUMBER 7

Baberton's Karen Marshall, record-setting winner of the Strathtyrum Trophy tournament at St Andrews six times between 1997 and 2012, is on the trail of title number seven.
Karen, pictured left, with rounds of 76 (New Course) and 82 (Eden Course) tied for second place with Kate McIntosh (Broomieknowe) (78-80) on 158 - one shot behind the top seed from England, Elizabeth Sweetnam (Woburn) who had scores of 78 and 79 for 157.
Scots provided four of the top five qualifiers for the match-play stages.
Louise Fraser (Kingsknowe) had a pair of 80s for fourth place on 160, one shot ahead of Angus county champion Ann Ramsay (Kirriemuir) 80-81.
