American Kevin Sutherland has scored the first sub-60 round in the history of the US Champions (Seniors) Tour.
Sutherland bogeyed the last but returned a 13-under-par 59 (28-31)
He birdfied the first, second, third and fourth; had an eagle 3 at the long fifth, then birdied the sixth, seventh and eighth with a par at the ninth to be out in nine-under-par 28.
After the turn he birdied the 10th, 11th, 15th, 16th. 17th ... then that solitary bogey at the last.
At early finisher, Sutherland leads the field at 14-under-par 130.
Colin Montgomerie is playing in this tournament, the Dick's Sporting Goods Open at Endicott, New York State.
