KELSEY MACDONALD HAS NIGHTMARE FINISH
LAURA MURRAY DRAGGED DOWN
BY FOUR BOGEYS IN NORWAY
Birdies at the ninth and 10th after a bogey at the seventh had Laura Murray set fair for a top-10
placing after the first round of the Ladies Norwegian Challenge at Losby Golf Club, near Oslo.
But that is not how it worked out.
The Alford player bogeyed the 11th, 15th, 16th and 17th with not another birdie in sight as she finished with a three-over-par 75 and a joint 16th placing behind leader Emma Nilsson (Sweden), two clear of the field with a three-under 69.
Compatriot Isabella Ramsay is next best on 71.
Katy McNicoll and Gemma Webster are T25 on 76 while Jane Turner had a 77 for T36 overnight.
Michele Thomson shot a 79 for T52 while Kelsey MacDonald had a nightmare with an 81 for T63.
Kelsey had halves of 39 and 42. She dropped six shots to par over the last four holes, having already had a double bogey 5 at the short third.
There is no cut because a flooded course wiped out the first round and cut the tournament to 36 holes.
