ST ANDREWS BREAKTHROUGH FOR KIRRIE PLAYER

ANN RAMSAY WINS STRATHYRUM

TOURNAMENT FOR FIRST TIME

Angus county champion Ann Ramsay (Kirriemuir)
has played in the Strathtyrum Tournament at St Andrews many times over the year - but never won it ... until today when she beat former Stirling University student and past R and A Bursar Stephanie Farrar by 2 and 1 in the final.
It was the first time that Ann had had to go as far as the 17th in all her matches over the Eden course.
 The handicap tournament for the Strathtyrum Salver was won by Ireland's Mary Martin. She beat Liz Ward (Woburn) by 4 and 2 in the final.

STRATHTYRUM TROPHY
Semi-finals - Ann Ramsay (Kirriemuir) bt Charlotte Odman (Sweden) 4 and 2, Stephanie Farrar (Sandiway) bt Carol Houghton (Nottinghamshire) 2 and 1.
Final - Ramsay bt Farrar 2 and 1.
STRATHTYRUM SALVER
Semi-finals - Mary Martin (Ireland) bt Adrienne Irvine (Ashton and Lea) 7 and 5, Liz Ward (Woburn) bt Marie Donaldson (Sweden) 4 and 2.
Final - Martin bt Ward 4 and 2.
