LETAS EVENT ON CRETE NOW OCTOBER 10-12

NEWS RELEASE

New date for Grecotel Amirandes Ladies
Open on Greek island of  Crete

The Grecotel Amirandes Ladies Open will take place a fortnight earlier than originally scheduled due to major refurbishment plans at Crete Golf Club.

The third edition of the popular Ladies European Tour Access Series (LETAS) event will now be played from October 10-12 (instead of 23-25) as the practice facilities and course will be remodelled immediately after the tournament.

The penultimate stop on the 2014 LETAS schedule will be eagerly anticipated by the players who enjoy the unique challenge of Crete Golf Club, the only 18-hole course on the Greek island, which has a mild and pleasant climate all year round.

The tournament will offer the players a late chance to move up the rankings on the LETAS order of merit, from which five cards are available for the following season’s Ladies European Tour and it has already attracted a strong field of competitors.

While Patricia Sanz Barrio of Spain won the title in 2013, recent LETAS tournament winners Monica Christiansen, Emma Nilsson and Isabella Ramsay have already entered the 2014 tournament, along with the 2012 champion Christine Wolf of Austria.
About the LET Access Series
The LET Access Series, the official development tour to the Ladies European Tour, has been formed to give players not part of a major tour an opportunity to compete and progress on to the Ladies European Tour.

The top five players on the 2014 LETAS Ranking will earn membership of the Ladies European Tour for the 2015 season, while the next fifteen players will have the opportunity to progress to the final stage of LET Tour School, thereby skipping the first qualifying event.

The WPGA International Challenge will be the final event of the season played from the 16 – 18 October at Stoke by Nayland Hotel Golf and Spa, with a prize fund of €30,000.

All female professional golfers and amateurs with a handicap of 2 or better will be eligible for membership of LETAS, providing they are over 18 years of age. If you are interested in hosting or running a new event on the LET Access Series, or would like more information, please e-mail info@letaccess.com.
