IRISH LADIES FOUR-BALL REGIONAL FINALS AT ATHLONE G C
NEWS RELEASE
The Miele Four-ball Regional Finals were held in Athlone Golf
Club today. Athlone Golf Club where eight clubs from four regions were in action.
Region 1 saw Skerries take on Castlewarden Golf Club. Skerries took an early lead winning the first two matches on the 18th hole. The back two matches
were called in.
It was a close call between Malone and City of Derry in Region 2. The third City of Derry match had an early win on the 14th hole. The remaining matches
lasted until the 16th, 18th and 19th respectively. The final result was 3 – 1 to City of Derry.
Cahir Park took on Castletroy in Region 3. Cahir Park emerged the stronger side winning their first three matches. The 13th proved to be a popular hole
for the team as the two middle matches secured wins of 7and 5. Region four saw Tuam take on Slieve Russell. Both teams
played very good golf but Tuam edged the win. They sealed wins on the 14th,
15th and 18th respectively.
The
2014 Miele Four-ball All-Ireland semi-finals and final will take place at
Naas Golf Club on Saturday-Sunday, October 4-5.
