IT IS STILL RAINING IN AUSTRIA!
GLOOMY PROSPECT OF NO PLAY AT
ALL IN EURO SENIOR TEAM CH/SHIP
There is a distinct possibility that the European senior women's amateur team championship in Austria will be abandoned without a blow being struck - not even in practice.
Austria has apparently had its wettest summer on record and the news from the Scotland camp tonight is that the rain has continued almost unabated since their arrival.
The waterlogged course is simply unplayable and it will take more than a few days to dry out - if and when it starts raining.
The organising committee are meeting at 2pm on Wednesday to decide what to do.
There is little they can do.
Too late to move to another course - and it would be difficult to find a dry one in Austria.
