SCOT TIES FOR SIXTH IN ROCKY MOUNTAIN CONFERENCE EVENT

Western New Mexico University has seven British students on its golf roster, picture above. Two of them are Scots - Calum Hill from Kinross (we think that's him second from the right) and because freshman Ross White from Dollar is 6ft 4in, we would guess he is the tallest man in the picture, dead centre

CALUM FROM KINROSS MAKES TOP

TEN AT BUFFALO RUN, COLORADO

Calum Hill from Kinross, a third-year student at the Western New Mexico University, finished joint sixth in a field of 62 at the Rocky Mountain Athletics Conference 54-hole tournament at Buffalo Run Golf Club, Commerce City, Colorado on Tuesday.
Hill had rounds of 74, 69 and 73 for a level-par aggregate of 216 over a long par-72 course of 7,411yd. He finished seven shots behind the winner, Andrew Kennedy (Colorado Christian University) who shot 71, 69 and 69 for a seven-under total of 209 to win by three.

Another WNM student in the top 10 was Harry Wetton, a second-year man from Bedford. He shot 73, 72 and 72 for 217 and a share of eighth place.
Two other WNM students in the field were Tom Neve, a junior (third year) from Epsom, and Dan Young, a junior from Cheshire.
Neve shot 76, 76 and 74 for 30th place on 226 while Young had scores of 80,76 and 78 for a share of 44th place on 234.
Surprisingly, Western New Mexico, even with two players in the top 10, did not win the team title or finish second.
Colorado Springs (872) headed the 11 teams with Colorado Christian (881) second and Western New Mexico (893) seventh.

TOM HARRIS MAKES TOP 20

Maryland University student Tom Harris, a final year student from Castletown on the Isle of Man, finished joint 16th in a field of 84 players at the VCU Shoot-out college tournament at Hermitage Country Club, Virginia
Over a par-72 course of 6,955yd, Tom had rounds of 74, 74 and 73 for a five-over total of 221 - eight shots behind the winner, Nick Voke (Iowa State), who had scores of 74, 68 and 71 for three-under 213
David Langley from Buckinghamshire, a second-year student at Old Dominion University, shot 74, 84 and 78 to tie for 65th place on 236.
