Leicestershire's Helen Lowe has opened up a six-stroke lead with one round to go in the 54-hole Senior British women's open amateur stroke-play championship over the classic Royal Dornoch links (which have a ladies' par of 76)
Scraptoft GC member Helen has shot 71-74 for seven-under-par 145.
Her nearest rival overnight is Patricia Cornett, captain of the American team in the Curtis Cup match at Nairn in 2012.
She has shot 78 and 73 for 151.
Five players are sharing third place on 152 including near-local Mary Smith from Tain. She has had rounds of 77 and 75.
Defending champion Ann Lewis (Royal St David's, Wales) is one of those of 152, with scores of 75-77.
Sheena Wood (Aberdeen Ladies) is eight shots off the pace with rounds of 80 73. Only three players got as low as 73 all day - Cornett, Wood and Canadian Kimberley Carrington.
Players with aggregates of 162 or better qualified for the final round in which play will start at 8.20am.
The leaders will go out last at 11.10am.
