Debby Sargent with handicap section winner Katie Darling

NEWS RELEASE
As a club going from strength to strength we recognise the need to support young Scottish golfers and to highlight both the academic and sporting resources the University of St Andrews offers.
The tournament took place at the weekend and was run as a stroke-play competition, with prizes for best gross and nett scores.

Saturday saw the girls take on the Strathtyrum course. Playing in the beautiful weather, Pamela Nunez took the lead after the first round, shooting a score of 67.
Katie Darling, who shot an incredible score of 70 (net score of 55), led her division.
The second round, played in very windy conditions was over the more resting Eden course.

Final results were as follows:

LEADING SCRATCH

142 Alice Watson (St Andrews Univ) 69 73

152 Pamela Nunez (St Andrews Univ) 67 85

155 Jennifer Rankine (Govan High) 77 78

Nett division:

134 Katie Darling (Royal High) (15) 55 79

140 Kiana Hainsworth (St Andrews Univ) (14) 64 76

We would like to thank all the participants. We truly hope all of the players and parents had a fantastic weekend and most importantly have learned something new about their golf games.

Special thanks to The Links, Eden Restaurant, University Admissions, Saints Sport and R and A for providing all the help with organizing the tournament and support throughout the weekend.
