SHINE ON NEW-SEASON DEBUTS
Eamon Bradley (pictured right) from Mount Ellen, Gartcosh, Glasgow and North Berwick's Calum Hill (lower picture) finished second and joint fifth today in the Sam Hall Intercollegiate 54-hole tournament at Hattiesburg Country Club, Mississippi.
It was their first appearances of the new 2014-15 US college golf season.
Bradley, a third-year student at Southeastern Louisiana University, had rounds of 68, 67 and 71 for a total of seven-under-par 206 over a par-71 course of 6,902yd
He finished seven shots behind the winner, Casey Fernandez (Southern Mississippi) who had a brilliant score of 14-under-par 199 with scores of 68, 66 and 65.
Hill, a sophomore student at Louisiana-Monroe, shot 69, 70 and 69 for joint fifth place on 208
There were two other Scots in the field of 84 players - Greg Smail from Musselburgh, a junior student at Louisiana-Monroe and Lawrence Allan from Alva, a junior at Southeastern Louisiana.
Smail finished T34 with scores of 66, 75 and 75 for 216.
Allan shot 78-74-72 for T65 on 224.
Matt Sheehan from Gillingham, Kent, finished T25 on 215 (73-73-69).
Bradley's effort helped Southeastern Louisiana (836) with the team event by three shots from Southern Mississippi at the head of a field of 12 teams.
Louisiana-Monroe finished sixth 855.
