LAURA MURRAY MAKES TOP 10 BUT

HEATHER STIRLING HAS NIGHTMARE

Alford's Laura Murray achieved another top 10 finished with a 54-hole aggregate of two-over-par 215 in the Grecotel Amirandes Ladies Open at Crete Golf Club, Greece today.
The Paul Lawrie Golf Centre player had scores of 71, 71 and 73, marring each of her rounds with a double bogey 6 but she still managed to finish joint seventh and earn 1,041 euros.
Murray finished 12 shots behind the back-to-back winner Tonje Daffinrud (Norway) who also won last week's Azores Ladies Open in only her second outing as a professional.
Daffinrud scores 66,67, 70 for 10 under par 203 and earned top prize of 4,863 euros by three shots from Daisy Nielsen (Denmark).

Fife-based Heather Stirling, like Murray a former Scottish women's amateur champion, had a disastrous final round of 82, taking 44 shots for the first nine. Her earlier rounds had been 73 and 70.
Stirling finished on 225, 27th of the 29 qualifiers for the first round. She earned 579 euros.
