CARNOUSTIE STUDENT AT MISSOURI HAS THREE BIRDIES IN FINAL ROUND


JESS MEEK GETS TOP-10 FINISH AT 
MERCEDES-BENZ COLLEGIATE CLASSIC

Knoxville, Tennessee - Sophomore student Jess Meek, pictured en route to winning the St Rule Trophy at St Andrews in June, had three birdies in a third-round, two-over-par 73 to move into the top 10 at the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Classic at the Cherokee Country Club's par-71 course (5,870yd) at Knoxville.
The Carnoustie, Scotland, native, a former Scottish Under-21 girls' champion, finished the tournament in joint 10th position in a field of 90 players. Meek had an eight-over-par aggregate of 221 (76-72-73)
Missouri freshman Clara Young from North Berwick finished T54th with rounds of 75, 74 and 82 for 231.
Individual winner was Nanna Madsen (South Carolina) with rounds of 72, 69 and 71 for one-under 212. She won by three strokes.
Northern Ireland's Jessica Carty (Denver University), a second-year student from Rory McIlroy's home territory - Holywood, near Belfast - finished T17 on 223 with rounds of 72, 74 and 77.
Denver team-mate and Scotland international Rachael Watton from Edinburgh finished alongside Clara Young, T54 on 231 (72-74-77).
Spearheaded by the individual winner, South Carolina (865) won the team event by 14 shots from runners-up Tennessee(879) with Kent State (880) third of 16 teams.
Missouri (889) finished sixth and Denver (905) eighth.
