EMILY AIRD, JOSIE JENKINS HELP NEWMAN WIN ANOTHER TITLE - 2 OUT OF 2!


 Two team titles in a row for the Newman University women's team from Wichita, Kansas. Emily Aird and Josie Jenkins are in there somewhere!

AMARILLO, Texas – Perth's Emily Aird and Londoner Josie Jenkins have helped the Newman University women's golf team from Wichita, Kansas to make it two straight wins to start the US college golf season.
This week (Monday-Tuesday), Newman chalked up a 14-stroke win at the Lady Buffs Stampede at La Paloma Golf Club. 
Newman third-year student Courtney Zietsman (72-70) tied for first place on level par 142, but lost at the third play-off hole for top medalist honours to Hee-Leina Kim (Colorado State-Pueblo) (67-75). 
Freshman Julie Bernard finished third, one shot behind the play-off participants, with a two-round score of 143 971-72). 

Newman final-year student Kendall Anderson placed in the top 10 as well with a sixth place finish on 148 (74-74).
 Josie Jenkins tied for 25th place on 159 (74-85). Second year student Emily Aird tied for 41st place in the field of 79. She shot 84-83 for 167.
Newman won the team title with a 590 total - 14 shots ahead of runners-up West Texas A&M placed second with a score of 604. Metro State was third with a score of 618 in a field of 15 teams/
The Lady Jets are back in action next Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 13-14) at the Dallas Baptist Classic
