SCOTS IN THE MIX AT LETAS TOURNAMENT

LAURA AND HEATHER IN TOP TEN WITH A ROUND TO GO ON CRETE

Laura Murray (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) from Alford and Fife-based Heather Stirling, both former Scottish women's amateur champions, are in joint sixth and seventh positions with one round to go in ths Grecotel Amirandes Ladies Open at Crete Golf Club, Hersonissos, Greece.
Murray has had a pair of par 71s for 142 while Stirling has shot 73-70 for 143.
Laura had a double bogey on her card for the second day in a row but once again she shrugged off the disappointment in true professional style. She birdied the fourth, sixth, 10th, 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th in halves of 39-32.
Her double bogey 6 came at the ninth. She also had bogeys at the first, seventh and 18th.
Stirling, who was tempted to return to golf from full-time caddieing at St Andrews and Florida by the introductionof the Paul Lawrie Ladies Tartan Tour, had birdies at the fourth, 11th, 14th, 15th and 16th in second-round halves of 37 and 33. She bogeyed the first, sixth, seventh and 12th.
Murray is nine shots behind the leader by three, 23-year-old rookie pro Tonje Daffinrud (Norway), who won the Azores Ladies Open last week. Tonje has scored 66 and 67 for nine-under 133/
Daisy Nielsen (Denmark) is lying second on 136 (68-68)
Jane Turner (Craigielaw) missed the cut by six shots with rounds of 75 and 79.
Gemma Webster (Succession Group) retired after the first round.
