NUNEATON PLAYER KEEPS UP GOOD FORM IN AMERICA

CHARLOTTE HARTSHORN CHALKS UP

BACK-TO-BACK 2nd PLACE FINISHES


Charlotte Hartshorn, a sophomore student from Nuneaton, Warwickshire, on Tuesday finished second on the US women's college circuit and helped Houston Baptist University achieve back-to-back team victories.
So that makes two "seconds" in a row for former Warwickshire women's county champion Charlotte who scored 75 and 69 for level par 144 in the UAB's Fall Beach Blast at The Peninsula Golf Club, Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Hartshorn finished one shot behind winner Paloma Vaccaro (West Florida) who scored 71-72 for 143.
Houston Baptist (584) won the team title. 
Other Brits in this event, the last until next spring for most college players, were Dolores Brown (McNeese State), a sophomore from Royal Cinque Ports, Kent, Aimee Ponte (West Florida) from Hampshire,  Lesley Atkins (Louisiana-Monroe), a sophomore from Hawick and a past Scottish U18 girls champion, Holly Robinson (Alabama-Birmingham), a senior student from Sligo, Ireland, and Anglo-Scot Nicola Callander (Southern Mississippi), winner of the Scottish U21 girls' open stroke-play title at Blairgowrie two or three years ago.
In a field of 57 players, Dolores Brown finished T30 on 153 (83-70) - very good second round!
Aimee Ponte also finished on 153 with rojunds of 79-74.
Lesley Atkins had a pair of 79s for 158 and joint 46th place.
Holly Robinson finished T48 on 159 (76-83).
Nicola Callander ahd scores of 85 and 98 for 183 and 57th place.
