HELPS FLORIDA TECH WIN TEAM TITLE
Aberdeenshire's Rachel Polson, a student at Florida Tech, finished 30th in a field of 132 players at this week's
NCAA Division 2 National Preview 36-hole US women's college golf
tournament at The Meadows Golf Club, Allendale in Michigan.
Rachel, pictured, from Peterculter, had rounds of 79 and 85 for 164 - 14 shots behind the winner, Kelly Hartigan (Grand Valley) (73-77 for 150).
Jessica Bradley from Bishops Nympton, North Devon, was the leading British player in the tournament.
A student at Lynn University, she shot rounds of 74 and 80 - obviously bad weather blew up the second-round cores - for 154 and a share of fifth place.
Rachel Polson's effort helped Florida Tech, where the Peterculter player is a final-year student, to tie for the team title with Grand Valley University, eight shots ahead of third-placed Nova Southeastern. Lynn finished fifth in a field of 26 teams.
