BEATS EMMA LOGIE IN FINAL AT NEWMACHAR

SHANNON McWILLIAM WINS PAUL LAWRIE GIRLS' FINAL

Paul Lawrie Scottish schoolgirls champion Shannon McWilliam (Aboyne) added another trophy to her sideboard by beating Emma Logie (Buckpool) by 5 and 4 in the final of the Paul Lawrie Golf Foundation girls' match-play tournament at the Hawkhill course, Newmachar Golf Club.
The match was originally scheduled for early October but was rained off.
Emma made a flying start by winning the second and fourth to be two holes up on the fifth tee.
Shannon won the fifth and birdied the seventh to square the match.
McWilliam then took a grip on the outcome ny winning the eighth, 10th, 11th and 12th. The Aboyne player birdied the 14th to complete a 5 and 4 victory.
