US WOMEN'S COLLEGE GOLF TOURNAMENT NEWS

CHARLOTTE THOMAS TIES for FOURTH 

PLACE AT EDEAN IHLANFELDT

Charlotte Thomas, a contender for a place in the GB and I team for January's Astor Trophy tournament in South Australia finished joint fourth in a field of 63 players at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational at Sahalee Country Club, Washington State (course par 72-6,039yd) on Wednesday.

Surrey-born, Singapore-raised Charlotte (pictured) shot a pair of 73s for 146 - 10 shots behind the winner, team-mate Soobin Kim who shot 69-67 for eight-under-par 136 to win by nine shots from another two Washington players who tied for second place.
Not surprisingly, Washington University (571) won the team title from Stanford (590), UC Davis (598) in a field of 12 teams.

GEMMA BELOW HER BEST AT WINDY

Aberdonian Germma Dryburgh, also a GB and I team contender and a student at Tulane University, New Orleans, played way below her best form in finishing T58 ina field of 82 players at the Windy City Collegiate Championship at Westmoreland Country Club, Wilmette in the state of Illinois.
Over a par-72 course of 6,250yd, Gemma (pictured above)  had rounds of 84, 73 and 76 for 17-over-par 233
She finished 22 shots behind the winner by three, Annie Park (Southern California) (73-69-69 for five-under 211).
Southern Cal (876) won the team title by three shots from Northwestern with Iowa State (888) in third place of 15 teams. Tualne (897) finished eighth.
