Catriona Matthew found her form again in the second round to jump up from T30 to T15 with a seven-birdie, four-under-par 68 for 143 in the CME Group Tour Championship at Naples, Florida.
But it could have been even better as the North Berwick player ran up a double bogey 6 at the 18th after dropping her first shot of the day at the 16th.
Prior to that the Scot had been in vintage form, using her length to hit the par-5s in two and holing birdie putts.
Matthew birdied the long first, the short fifth, the long sixth to be out in 33. Coming home she birdied the 10th, 13th, long 15th and long 17th.
She is now only six shots off the pace, being shared by Spain's Carlota Ciganda (70-67 for 137) and first-round leader Julieta Granada from Paraguay (66-71).
Morgan Pressel has moved up inito third place with a 66 for 138.
