PAMELA PRETSWELL'S 66 HOISTS 

HER UP TO SHARE OF 12th IN CHINA

Pamela Pretswell outscored the Chinese tournament leader with a second-round, six-under-par 66 in the Sanya Ladies Open at Hainan Island in a tropical region of China today.
The Hamilton player, pictured above, improved by eight shots on her lacklustre first round, thanks to seven birdies - the third, fourth, ninth, 10th, 12th,13th and 17th in halves of 34-32. She had one blemish on her scorecard, a bogey at the second.
Pretswell has shot toT12 on four-under-par 140 in a tournament being dominated by Chinese and South Korean competitors. Xi Yu Lin leads on nine-under-par 135 (68-67), two shots clear of South Korea's Babe Liu (68-69) with a Chinese amateur Jienalin Zhang (70-68) and a Chinese professional Yang Zhang sharing third place on 138 with the leading European, young Charley Hull (70-68).
 Kylie Walker made the cut with nothing to spare on 147 (73-74) but Vikki Laing (76 for 150) and Sally Watson (75 for 151) bowed out.
