SCOTS DO WELL IN LAST MISSOURI COMPETITION UNTIL FEBRUARY

IN TOP 16 AT SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS

Columbia, Missouri - Sophomore Jess Meek from Carnoustie and freshman Clara Young from North Berwick earned top-16 finishes in a field of 69 players at the Jim West Challenge in San Antonio, Texas on Monday.
The Scottish girls shot 8-over par and 10-over par respectively to lead the Tigers in the tournament. As a team, Mizzou earned a seventh place finish, scoring 301-308-311--920 (+56) through three rounds of play. 
Texas A and M (+22), Houston (+28) and Texas Tech (+29) made up the top three finishing teams in the tournament, which was played at the 6,234-yard, Par 72 course at Tapatio Springs Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas.

Meek, pictured right, tallied four birdies in the third round of play to secure a tied 10th place finish. This year's St Rule Trophy winner at St Andrews shot 73-75-76--224 through three rounds of play.
Compatriot Young, who was East Lothian's youngest ever county champion at the age of 15, was not far behind as she shot 75-74-77--226 to conclude her first autumn season with the Tigers in joint 16th place.

The Tigers will open play for the spring season next year, teeing off in Tallahassee, Florida on February 13.
