INTERNATAIONAL EVENT AT MIAMI, STARTING SATURDAY

FIONA LIDDELL, INDIA CLYBURN BID 

TO BREAK BRITISH DUCK IN JUNIOR 

ORANGE BOWL GIRLS' TOURNAMENT

Scottish Under-18 girls' match-play champion Fiona Liddell, who is based in Germany where her father Stephen is professional at
Schloss Vornholz Golf Club, near Gutersloh, and Scottish Under-21 girls' open stroke-play title-holder India Clyburn are in the field of 35 for the Junior Orange Bowl girls' tournament at Biltmore golf course, Miami, Florida from December 27 (Saturday) to 30.


Liddell has won twice in Florida over the past 12 months - the Honda Junior Classic ast December and the Optimists girls' event during the summer.
Both girls are bound for extended stays in the States over the next few years. English girls champion India, pictured below, sister of LET player Holly Clyburn, will go to
North Carolina State University next August while Fiona, who is that bit younger, will enrol in August 2016 at Baylor University, Waco in Texas - where another past Scottish U18 champion, Lauren Whyte from St Andrews - is a freshman student.
No Scottish or English girl has ever won the Junior Orange Bowls tournament which started in 1977. There is an international field of 34 girls this year.
Inbee Park, the multi-major winner on the LPGA Tour, won the girls' title in 2002.
In 1991 Tiger Woods won the Junior Orange Bowls tournament which started in 1964. This will be the 51st staging.
England has provided a winner of this one - professional's son Ben Parker in 2005.
England's two boy nominations for this year's event, Jamie Dick (Forest Hills) from Gloucester and Daniel List (Wentworth), have handicaps of +2.8 and +1 respectively.
The boys will be playing over a 6,742yd course, the girls over 6,089yd. Both have pars of 71.
