MICHELE, ALYSON  NEED TO IMPROVE 

ON OPENING PRE-Q B SCORES

Former Scottish amateur champions Michele Thomson and Alyson McKechin, the only two Scots in the field of 78 at the Ladies European Tour Qualifying School Pre-Qualifier B, shot five-over 78 and 10-over 83 respectively on the opening day of the four-round tournament at Royal Dar Es Salam Golf Club, Rabat in Morocco.
Thomson, from Ellon, is joint 18th and McKechin, a member at Elderslie Golf Club, is T59.
They are seeking be among the likely figure of 14 or 15 qualifiers for the LET Final Q School at Marrakesh, Morocco from December 17 to 21.
Thomson, a Curtis Cup player at St Andrews in 2008, the year she won the Scottish title at Lossiemouth, had only one birdie, at the short eighth.
She bogeyed the first, ninth, 10th, 11th, 13th and 15th in halves of 38 (one over) and 40 (four over).
McKechin had no birdies in halves of 40 and 43. Starting at the 10th, she bogeyed the short 11th, double bogeyed the 15th and dropped another shot at the 16th.
Things got worse for the Paisley player on her second nine. She had a double bogey 6 at the second and a triple bogey 8 at the long third. before a final bogey at the short eighth.
Astrid Vayson de Pradenne (Francde) leads the field with a two-under 71, a shot ahead of Nicole Garcia (Spain).
