GB and I OFFICIAL ASTOR TROPHY RUNNERS-UP

Although you would not have known from the Australia Golf website, defending champions Great Britain and Ireland actually
finished official runners-up behind 2015 Astor Trophy championship winners Australia at Grange Golf Club, Adelaide, South Australia last week.
LGU chairman Trish Wilson and team captain Elaine Farquharson-Black arrived back home this afternoon after a trip from Australia that spanned two days, flying from Adelaide to Dubai then Dubai to Heathrow.
Elaine was able to confirm that GB and I finished ahead of the two other teams on the 2pt mark - New Zealand and South Africa - with a 15 1/2 game points. NZ had 15 game points and South Africa 12.
"We were announced as runners-up at the prizegiving ceremony," said the team captain.
+GB and I's Bronte Law was the MVP (most successful player) with 6.5pt out of a possible eight.
Connie Jaffrey (Troon Ladies and Kansas State University) and Chloe Williams (Wrexham) have stayed on Down Under to compete in the Australian women's international amateur championship at The Australian Golf Club and also the Lakes Golf Club, Sydney.
A 36-hole stroke-play qualifying competition will be held over Tuesday and Wednesday at both venues. The 32 players with the lowest aggregates will go forward to the match-play stages at the Australian Golf Club, Sydney from Thursday through to Sunday's 36-hole final.
