Bob MacIntyre, from Oban and a freshman student at McNeese State University, Lake Charles, Lousiana, showed his class with a brilliant third-round 63, eight under par (and maybe a course recod0 over a 7.262yd course, to finish tied third in the Arizona Intercollegiate.
MacIntyre finished tied third on four-under-par 209 having earlier had scores of 77 and 69. That first round cost him victory perhaps!
The winner, German-born Max Rotfluff (Arizona State) had scores of 70, 65 and 68 for 10-under-par 203 - four shots ahead of runner-up Martin Simonsen (Texas El Paso).
MacIntyre's great effort boosted McNeese State into third place behind team title winners Arizona State and runners-up Texas El Paso in a field of 15 teams. 
It was Rottluff's  second victory of the college golf season
