SOPHIE LAMB'S 76 MAKES HER 4th SEED IN FLORIDA

Clitheroe kid Sophie Lamb, only 17, has earned the No 4 seed berth in this week's Florida Orange Blossom ladies amateur tour event - the Jones-Doherty match-play championship at Coral Ridge Country Club, Fort Lauderdale.
Warmer conditions than last week as the Lancashire teenager,  on only her second trip to the States. shot a three-over-par 76 - three behind the No 1 seed Samantha Smolen who, as luck would have it, was Sophie's playing partner ... and they seem to have got on well.

Sophie's dad tells me she is still not holing as many putts as she would like to but 76 is a good first competitive effort over the Coral Ridge course.
As long as she keeps holing more putts than her opponents, Sophie will do OK!
The leaders among the 32 qualifiers for the match-play stages have byes today (Tuesday) and don't play again until Wednesday. Sophie will play the winner of the first-round tie between Elle Nachmann and Jolena Bryant.
Fingers crossed.
