New US Senior Women's Open on the cards

The United States Golf Association will soon announce the creation of a new U.S. Senior Women's Open, according to a report from GolfWeek.
The report, citing "multiple sources, who requested anonymity because they are not permitted to speak on behalf of the association," states that USGA president Tom O'Toole is expected to address the matter at the association's annual meeting in February.
“I will tell you that a lot of us really want to see this happen, but we want to be cautious about this too,” USGA executive director Mike Davis told the magazine. 
“There are still answers to questions that need to be resolved yet.”
“This has been looked at, I know, for three decades. When I say we’ve got a championship for truly every group, that’s the one group we don’t have one for. And I think we’d be the first ones to admit that’s not a good thing. It’s not something we’re proud of.”
The USGA currently holds 15 national championships and has a female counterpart for each of its male championships, with the Senior Open as the lone exception.
