Karis Davidson (3 under par) finishes jt runner-up at Ladies' 

Lake Macquarie, nine shots behind Aussie winner Shelly Shin

Karis Davidson, originally from Innerleithen in the Tweed Valley but Queensland-based for the past eight years, tied for second place in the Ladies Lake Macquarie Championship at Belmont Golf Club, New South Wales, writes Colin Farquharson.
The 16-year-old had rounds of 71, 76, 68 and 74 to share the runner-up spot on three-under-par 289 with Australia's Rebecca Kay (69-78-71-71) - nine shots behind the runaway winner, Shelly Shin, another 16-year-old - who finished on 12 under par 280 over the par-73 course with scores of 71, 71, 70 and 68 for 280.
Shin, who has a handicap of +4. and Kay are in the Australian team for next week's Astor Trophy team match-play tournament at  Grange GC, Adeldaide in South Australia.
A third member of the Aussie team, Hannah Green finished fourth on 290. Jenny Lee, who is also in the Aussie team, finished T16 on 304.
Gennai Goodwin, who completes the Aussie team of five, did not play in the Ladies Lake Macquarie championship.
Members of the New Zealand team for the Astor Trophy were also in the field. Chantelle Cassidy did best, finishing fifth on 292
