Karis shoots five-under 68, now 2nd at Lake Macquarie:
Seven-birdie round lowest of tournament so far

Karis Davidson, 16-year-old Scot from Innerleithen, shot the lowest round of the tournament so far - a five-under-par 68 which included seven birdies and two bogeys - to move into second place with one round to go in the 54-hole Ladies' Lake Macquarie tournament at Belmont Golf Club, near Sydney, New South Wales, writes Colin Farquharson .
Karis, pictured below, who moved to Queensland with her parents from their Tweed Valley home eight years ago, was the only player to break 70 over the par-73 course in the third round.
She has a 54-hole tally of four-under-par 215, having had earlier rounds of 71 and 76. 
Shelly Shin, the only Australian above Karis in the Women's World Amateur Rankings, leads the field of 53 by three shots with scores of 71, 71 and 70 for seven-under 212. Shelly, who is 16 years old,  has a handicap of +4, compared with Karis's +2.
Hannah Green, like Shin a member of the Aussie team for next week's Astor Trophy at the Grange Golf Club, Adelaide in South Australia, is in third place on 216 with scores of 71, 74 and 71.
New Zealand team selection Chantelle Cassidy is in fourth place on 217.
Two other Aussie team players, Rebecca Kay and Jenny Lee are in fourth and 17th places respectively.
Gennai Goodwin, the fifth member of the Australian Astor Trophy team, is not playing in this event.
