LET Rookies head to Spain later this month
The Orientation Days will bring together the stars of the future who qualified to play on the Ladies European Tour through the Lalla Aicha Tour School and the LET’s official development tour, the LET Access Series.
The rookies are:
Anne Van Dam, Emma Goddard, Csilla Lajtai-Rozsa, Alex Peters,
Marika Voss, Lynn Carlsson, Laura Murray, Natalie Wille, Jienalin Zhang, Anna Christina Kindgren, Marie Fourquier, Johanna Bjork,
Wei Wei Zhang, Maria Palacios, Manon de Roey, Portland Rosen, Amanda Strang, Tonje Daffinrud, Emma Westin.
According to Mike Round, Director of Development and Membership: “This is a new venture organised by our recently established Development Department. The aim is to provide those who are new to the Tour with information and guidance so that their introduction to Tour life is as smooth as possible.
"As well as educating them about the LET’s vision and values, they’ll also be given practical information about playing in professional events.
“We’re very fortunate to be able to stage our inaugural Rookie Orientation Days at such a wonderful facility. The LET is extremely grateful to the staff at the venue who have helped us to put the event together. We’re all looking forward to our visit.”
In addition to the packed programme of training sessions, there will be a welcome dinner at which former LET professional and British Women’s Open Champion, Marta Figueras-Dotti, will speak to the rookies. Also incorporated into the Orientation Days is a Pro-Am that will not only be an inspiring educational experience, but will also be a fantastic opportunity for some talented local girls to connect with the new professionals.
The fresh partnership with the Dénia Marriott La Sella Golf Resort and Spa means that all attending will enjoy accommodation, food, access to all golf facilities and the gym and the opportunity to make new friendships.
“We are very proud to welcome the best players in the world to La Sella,” said Mara Bañó.
“I hope they understand its beauty. It is a technical course: the par threes are solid and par fours are tough, but there are holes where you can recover. The Olazábal signature course is certainly the most challenging in the area and will meet the challenges required by any golfer.”
