CLARA AND JESS ARE MISSOURI UNIVERSITY STARS 

BUT THEY ARE A TWO-PLAYER TEAM!

North Berwick's Clara Young, the youngest ever East Lothian women's champion and now a freshman student at the University of Missouri, produced her best performance yet on the US women's college circuit at the Seminole Match Up over the weekend.

Clara, pictured, finished T5 on one-over-par 217 in a field of 66 players Southwood Golf Club, Tallahassee in Florida..
She had rounds of 73, 74 and 70 over a par-72 course of 6230yd.
Her closing 70 was one of the best by any player in Sunday's final round.
Young birdied the fifth, seventh and 11th in halves of 34-36. Her only bogey came at the short 13th where she missed the green and couldn't get up and down to save par.
Clara finished only three strokes behind the joint winners on two-under 214 - Bianca Fabrizio (Texas A and M) (69-72-73) and Taylot Totland (Furman) (73-70-71).
University of Missouri team-mate Jess Meek, a second-year student from Carnoustie, finished T11 on 219 with rounds of 73, 72 and 74. Jess, a former Scottish Under-21 champion birdies the second and the 16th in halves of 35-39 but in between she dropped shots at the 10th, 11th, 14th and 16th.
Even with Young and Meek finishing in the top 11 or so, Missouri could do no better than finish ninth of 12 in the team event - which indicates that the Missouri scouts need to get some back-up for the talented Scots pair for the start of the 2015-16 college season.
There was a third British player in the Seminole Match Up field - Dulcie Sverdloff (Kennesaw State) from Southend.
She scored 73, 77 and 71 for T17 on 221. So, three Brits in the top 20, that can't be bad!
Sverdloff birdied the second, third, 16th and 17th but, like Meek, dropped shots in between the red figures - at the 11th, 12th and 13th to be precise. Kennesaw State tied for fifth place in the team event which was won by Furman.
