GRANT FORREST'S 11-UNDER-PAR TOTAL EARNS HIM

ONLY THIRD PLACE IN BARONA CUP

Grant Forrest, the 2012 Scottish amateur champion and in his final few months as a student at San Diego University, California, finished third in the Barona Collegiate Cup tournament at Barona Creek Golf Club, Lakeside, California.

Over a par-72 course of 7,324yd, Forrest (pictured) had scores of 68, 69 and 68 for an 11-under-par total of 205.
He finished six shots behind the winner, Xander Schauffele (San Diego State) (71-64-64). Another San Diego State player, Nahum Mendoza finished second on 202 (65-71-66).
Seb Crookall-Nixon (San Francisco), from the North of England, finished T55 in the field of 75 with scores of 79, 71 and 74 for 224
San Diego finished runners-up to their arch-rivals, San Diego, in the team event contested by 13 teams.
San Diego Stated totalled 833, 12 ahead of Grant Forrest and his team-mates.
