WPGA CHALLENGE FOR ENGLAND GIRL AMATEURS

England’s up-and-coming girl golfers have been invited to take on the tournament challenge of WPGA professionals.
Girls from the England Golf U16 and U18 regional squads have the opportunity for the second successive season to enter the WPGA’s popular One-Day Series and gain tournament experience.
The amateurs made an impressive debut in last year’s Series. Megan Clarke (Cleckheaton and District) and Charlotte West (Harewood Downs) both won events while Bel Wardle (Prestbury), Cloe Frankish (Chart Hills) and Aimee Wilson (Little Aston) were all runners-up.
Rebecca Wood, the England Golf performance manager for women’s golf, commented: “England Golf is very grateful to the WPGA for opening up spaces at these events and supporting our regional programme.
“The experience is invaluable and gives the girls a great opportunity to compete and to see at first-hand how the professional players approach the game.”
The 2015 series of seven onw-day events will run from May to August and will take place at Little Aston on May 11, Dunham Forest on May 27, Salisbury amd South Wilts on June 16, Kedleston Park on 29 June, Torquay on July 9, Chestfield on July 17and South Herts on  August 19.
Entry will be for up to 10 players per event with a maximum handicap requirement of four.
