DOUBLE BOGEYS DRAG CONNIE 

JAFFREY DOWN TO T25 IN UTAH


Connie Jaffrey (Troon Ladies and Kansas State University), pictured,  shot 10 birdies over 54 holes but also had four damaging double bogeys that saw her finish T25 in a field of 84 players at the Brigham Young Entrada Classic, played in temperatures in the high 60s and 70s, at Snow Canyon, St George in Utah (March 16-17), writes Colin Farquharson.
The Scot finished 18 shots behind the winenr by two, home course player Alex White (Brigham Young) who scored 67, 73 and 68 for eight-under-par 208 over a par-72, 6,146yd course.
Connie had back-to-back double bogeys at a par-3 (14th), then at a par-4 (15th) in her first round. She double bogeyed the 15th again in her second round. In her final, par-matching round she had a double bogey at the par-5 16th as well as birdies at the first, fifth, seventh, eighth and 17th.
California, who had players finishing in the second, third and fourth spots, won the team title by a 20-shot margin from their hosts, Brigham Young. Kansas State, 42 shots behind California, finished seventh of 15 teams.

HANNAH JUST OUTSIDE TOP TEN AT DAYTONA BEACH

Hannah Robb, who scored her first USA win in her last tournament, finished T11 in a field of 78 players at her next, the Embry Riddle Eagle Invitational at LPGA Ingternational, Daytona Beach, Florida (March 16-17).
Hannah had rounds of 76 and 77 for a 153 total over a par-73 course of 6,076yd. The Scotscraig Golf Club, Tayport member, whose family home is at St Michaels, Fife, finished 15 shots behind the winner by four, Sofia Molinaro (SCAD Savannah) who had rounds of 70 and 68 for eight-under 138.
Robb's team-mate Sophie Olley from Leeds finished T40 on 162 (81-81).
SCAD Savannah (583) won the team event ahead of Northwood (599). Embry Riddle (635) finished sixth of 14.

SEAN BURGESS OUTGUNNED IN NEVADA

Sean Burgess from Nairn, a third-year student at Oakland University, Michigan, finished T69 in a field of 87 players at the Jack Rabbit Invitational at Primm Valley Golf Club, Nevada (March 16-17).
Sean had rounds of 79, 75 and 72 for a three-round total of 226.
Kurt Kitayama (Nevada-Las Vegas) shot the lights in winning by three strokes with a 19-under-par total of 197 with scores of 67, 64 and 66.
Nevada-Las Vegas players filled the first three places so it follows that UNLV (801) won the team title with ease from Tennessee (821) and Oral Roberts (866) with Oakland (867) fourth of 15 teams.

HASKELL MAKES TOP TEN IN GEORGIA

Ryan Haskell (Clayton State University), a final year student from Newport, Wales, finished T7 in a field of 93 players at the Bobcat Invitational at Cuscowillah, Eatonton, Georgia.

Haskell, pictured, had rounds of 73, 68 and 71 for 214 - eight shots behind the winner by three, Axel Ostensson (South Carolina-Aiken) (68-69-69 for four-under 206 over a par-70 course of 6,730yd).
Chris Low (Georgia Southwestern), a final-year student from North Berwick, finished T26 with scores of 74, 69 and 76 for 219.
Andrew Burgess (Armstrong State), a freshman from Nairn, finished T50 with scores of 76, 71 and 77 for 224
Fraser Johnston (Georgia Southwestern), a second-round student from Port Seton, finished T55 on 225 with scores of 74, 75 and 76.
Nova Southeastern (844) won the team title ahead of South Carolina-Aiken (855) with St Leo (861) third, Lynn (863) fourth and Armstrong State (867) fifth. Clayton State (876) fnished T6 in a field of 17 teams.
