J J Grey finishes ahead of Scots in Georgia

J J Grey from Kent, a junior student at Georgia State, and Tennessee-Chattanooga's two Scots, senior Liam Johnston from Dumfries and sophomore Ewan Scott from St Andrews finished down the field in the Linger Longer Invitational college tournament at Greater Waters Golf Club, Eatonton in Georgia.
Grey shot 70, 73 and 74 for T30 on one-over 217 over a par-72 course of 7,073yd
Johnston shared that mark with scor3es of 74, 73 and 70.
Scott, the 2013 Scottish youth champion, sank to a T61 finish after following up rounds of 74 and 71 with a 78 for 223.
There were 84 players in the field in an event won by two strokes by Lee McCoy (Georgia) with scores of 65, 70 and 67 for 14-under-par 202.
Texas (840) won the team title ahead of Georgia (845) with Georgia State (87 12th and Chattanooga (881) 14th of 15 teams.
