LIAM JOHNSTON JT RUNNER-UP IN North CAROLINA

University's Scottish students, final-year man Liam Johnston from
Dumfries and second-year student Ewan Scott from St Andrews, had
contrasting fortunes in this week's Davidson College Invitational on
the American college golf circuit at River Run Country Club, Davidson in
North Carolina.
Johnston,
pictured, who finished joint second, achieved a top-5 finish for the second time
in his last three competitions. He shot 72-71 for one-under--par 143,
two behind the winner, Thomas Rowland (Charlotte) (74-67 for 141)
Scott, the 2013 Scottish youths champion, scored 74-79 for 153 and a joint 32nd place in a field of 73 players.
Chattanooga finished runners-up in a field of 12, seven shots behind team title winners Charlotte.
