PETERHEAD STUDENT DECLAN MAKES TOP 20

IN TENNESSEE COLLEGE TOURNAMENT

Declan Addison from Peterhead, a freshman student at Brevard College, North Carolina finished joint 15th in a field of 96 players at the Tusculum Invitational college golf tournament at Link Hill Country Club, Greeneville, Tennessee, writes Colin Farquharson.
Addison had two rounds of 73 for a 146 total over a par-71 course of 6,763yd and finished eight shots behind the winner, Eli Crumley (Young Harris College) (70-68 for four-under 138).
George Duncan from Dumbartonshire, a second-year student at Lincoln Memorial University at Harrogate, Tennessee, had an excellent second round of 69, 10 strokes better than his opening effort. His 148 total placed him joint 25tth.
Another North-east student at Brevard College, freshman Craig Stephen, pictured left,  from Torphins finished joint 39th with rounds of 79 and 72 for 151 and a joint 39th place finish.
Lincoln Memorial University finished third and Brevard College seventh of 16 in the team event won by the hosts, Tusculum College.

SEAN DOWN THE FIELD IN SOUTH CAROLINA

Sean Burgess from Nairn, a third-year student at Oakland University, Michigan finished T73 in a field of 88 playersat the Colleton River Collegiate tournament at Bluffton, South Carolina.
The tournament was held over two par-72 courses, one of6,944 and the other 7,066yd.
Sean had rounds of 75, 84 and 82.
Oakland finished 10th of 14 behind team title winners Tennessee. 

 CHRIS LOW T30 FINISH IN GEORGIA

Chris Low, pictured, from North Berwick, in his final few months after four years at Georgia Southwestern University, finished T30 in a field of 90 players at the Southeastern Collegiate tournament at Kinderlou Forest, Valdosta in Georgia.
Over a long par-72 course of 7,311yd Chris had improving scores of 76, 75 and 73 for a total of 224 - 16 shots behind the winner, Forrest Knight (North Alabama) (72-67-69 for eight-under 208).
One of Chris's team-mates, Nicholas Ward, a sophomore from Eastbourne, was the highest finishing Brit in this tournament. He came T14 on 219 with scores of 74, 74 and 71.
A third Georgia Southwestern student, Fraser Johnston, a sophomore from Port Seton, finished T68 on 233 with rounds of 76, 79 and 78.
Andrew Burgess (Armstrong State), a freshman from Nairn, finished T75 on 234 with scores of 83, 76, 75.
Ryan Haskell (Clayton State), a senior student from Newport, Wales, finished T83 on 238 (79-80-79).
Saint Leo (859 won the team title ahead f Lynn (868) with Georgia Soutwestern (901) 13h and Clayton State (921) 17th in a field of 18 teams.
