Forty-six competitors played today in the Renfrewshire women's county championship qualifying round at Ralston Golf Club.
The course was in good condition but the players had to contend with strong winds but fortunately the rain kept away.
Title-holder Eilidh Briggs was unable to defend her title due to injury which will keep her out of action until later in the year. Sister Megan is also on the injured list.
Qualifying in first place is Gillian Kyle (East Renfrewshire) with a gross 80, by a better inward half from young Jennifer Rankine (Haggs Castle) playing in only her second championships.
Winner of the best net prize. the Peggy Clark Trophy, was Elaine Robb (Milngavie) with a score of 86-12-74. She had a better inward half than Jennifer Rankine, who, playing off six, also had a net 74.
