Emily Aird shares sixth place at Grand Prairie, Texas
Emily Aird from Perth, a second-year student at Newman University, Wichita in Kansas, finished joint sixth in a field of 41 on Tuesday in the 36-hole Southwest Classic college tournament at Tangle Ridge Golf Club, Grand Prairie in Texas.
Emily had a pair of 75s for 150, finishing six strokes behind the winner, team-mate Courtney Zietsman who won by two shots with two rounds of 72 for level par 144 over a 5,875yd course.
Team-mate Josie Jenkins, a third-year student from London tied for 17th place on 155 (75-80).
Dallas Baptist, who had three players in the top seven, won the team event ahead of Newman in a field of eight teams.
