Dulcie from Southend leads the way
 FROM KENNESAW STATE UNIVERSITY WEBSITE
KISSIMMEE, Florida Sophomore Dulcie Sverdloff, pictured below,  from Southend  paced the Kennesaw State women's golf team as the Owls hold a 16-stroke lead and the top-four individual spots following the first round at the 2015 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship on a hot and humid Sunday (April 12) at the par-72, 6,146-yard Reunion Resort Watson Course.

"Today was a fun day," said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "I am exhausted. It is hot out here, but we played great one through five. Obviously being one-two-three-four on the leaderboard, I

not ask for anything more. I am super proud. We did not even get off to that good of a start honestly and I knew it would take us a few holes to settle in there and get our flow going and stay patient. "I talked to the team a little bit and told them this is a marathon and not a sprint, but they sprinted towards the finish line today and we played really well."
The Owls carded a one-under par 287 to open the conference championship, with Sverdloff leading all individuals after turning in the lone sub-par round on Sunday with a two-under par 70. The Southend-on-Sea, Essex native registered four birdies on the day and went one-under par with a birdie and eight pars on the back nine holes.

Senior Kaew Preamchuen and sophomore Laura Estefenn are two strokes off Sverdloff's lead and tied for second after posting an even-par 72 in their first round. After going three-over par in her first nine holes, Preamchuen rebounded to shoot three-under par on the back nine, including a stretch of four birdies in five holes. Estefenn was steady throughout the day, recording 16 pars and one birdie to start the tournament.

Sitting right behind the duo in a tie for fourth is senior Ines Lescudier, who posted a one-over par 73, while freshman Henriette Nielsen is tied for 10th after recording a three-over par 75 in her first A-Sun Championship appearance.

Florida Gulf Coast, for whom English student Georgia Price had a round of 80 for a share of 28th place, sits in second place with a 15-over par 303 in its opening round, while Jacksonville rounds out the top three with a 16-over par total of 304 on Sunday.

Dollar's Eilidh Watson (Stetson Uni) shot an 84 for 36th place in a field of 40 players

Second round action at the A-Sun Conference Championship continues tomorrow, Monday, April 13 with KSU's tee times beginning at 8:45 a.m. ET off of the No. 1 tee. Live scorig for the second round will be available HERE.
