Gemma Dryburgh's pro plans hang fire until 

Vagliano Trophy team announcement is made

Aberdeen-born Curtis Cup player Gemma Dryburgh, coming to the end of four years at Tulane University, New Orleans, is to turn professional after the Vagliano Trophy match against the Continent of Europe at Malone Golf Club, Belfast if selected for the nine-a-side biennial fixture on June 26-27, writes Colin Farquharson.

If not named in the GB and I team of nine which is due to be announced on May 30, Dryburn, who is 21, will turn professional earlier and enter the Ladies European Tour developmental tour, LETAS, and also go the the LPGA Tour School in America in August.

The top four GB and I players in the world rankings plus the leading two in the Ladies Golf Union Order of Merit if eligible will gain automatic selection. The LGU selection panel will have three picks to pick up the team of nine.

The Ladies Golf Union has been informed that Ireland's Leona Maguire (Slieve Russell), a first-year student at Duke University ,  North Carolina, will not be available for Vagliano Trophy selection. She is currently ranked No 1 on the US women's college golf circuit.
