Greg Smail gets top 20 finish at Jim West

The University of Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks improved three spots in the standings on Tuesday to move up
into a sixth place tie with a final score of 881 (+17) at the Jim West
Intercollegiate at Wolfdancer Golf Club.
Mason Seaborn continued his superior play with an even 72 in the final 18 holes to finish 4th on the overall leaderboard. It marks the senior's second top-five finish of the season as Seaborn capped off the tournament five strokes under par (211).
“We played solid again, like yesterday afternoon, and moved up a few more places,” head coach Walt Williams said. “Mason had a spectacular week and posted his second top-five finish of the semester.”
Greg Smail improved 15 spots in the standings by shooting one stroke under par to finish in the top-20 with a score of 219 (+3).
Calum Hill and Velten Meyer both shot two over on Tuesday to card a 224 (+8) and 230 (+14), respectively.
ULM finished ahead of Wichita State, Texas State, Rice, Florida Gulf Coast, Central Arkansas, Abilene Christian, HBU and UTPA.
“We played solid for the third week in a row,” Williams added. “I hope we are peaking at the right time to be a contender at the conference championship.”
The Warhawks recently added one more tournament before the Sun Belt Championship set for April 19-21. ULM will play a 36-hole event on Sunday when the squad travels to Bryan, Texas for the Reveille Challenge.
