TEMPE, Arizona – Through two rounds at the PING/ASU Invitational, the fourth-ranked Duke women’s golf team has been paced by freshman Leona Maguire from Ireland and junior Celine Boutier from France, who rank in the top 12 overall at the 6,223-yard, par 72 ASU Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz.
After leading following Friday’s round with a six-under-par, 66, Maguire carded a two-over-par, 74, in Saturday’s action and is tied seventh overall with a 140.  Boutier is tied 12th after totaling rounds of 69 and 72 for a 141 ledger.
With a 36-hole total of 138 at six-under-par, Annie Park of Southern California and Monica Vaughn of Arizona State are tied for the individual lead.
As a team, Duke slipped from second to tied seventh overall with rounds of 286 and 293 for a 36-hole ledger of 579.  Arizona (564) jumped into the lead with a 12-under-par, 276, and leads by eight strokes over South Carolina (572).  Texas (574), Stanford (575), Southern California (576), Arizona State (577), Duke (579), Baylor (579), Alabama (582) and Arkansas (582) round out the top 10.
After rolling in seven birdies on day one, Maguire was held to only one Saturday as she carded a 74.  She opened her day with an even-par, 35, on the front nine with seven pars, one birdie on No. 6 and a bogey on No. 4

A native of Cavan, Ireland, Maguire played the back nine at 39 with seven pars and bogeys on No. 11 and No. 16.
The reigning PING/ASU Invitational individual champion, Boutier, the world's No 1 female amateur, will head into the final day of play just three shots off the individual lead with rounds of 69 and 72.  Boutier, who hails from Montrouge, France, turned in 16 pars on the afternoon, one bogey on No. 1 and a birdie on the 153-yard, par three 16th.  She hit 12 fairways, 13 greens and had 33 putts on the day.
With rounds of 74 and 72, sophomore Sandy Choi enters Sunday’s final round tied 31st with a two-over, 146.  Choi, who is from Seoul, South Korea, played her final 11 holes at two-under-par with birdies on the 14th and 16th holes, after opening the day at two-over through seven holes.  She hit 11 fairways, 12 greens and rolled 29 putts.
Both Gurbani Singh and Lisa Maguire each collected two birdies on Saturday on their way to posting rounds of 75 and 76, respectively.  The duo are tied 74th overall with a nine-over-par, 153.

Lauren Whyte from St Andrews, a freshman student at Baylor University, stayed within the top 20 with a 72 for one-under 143.
She leads the Baylor squad on the scoreboard which must give her a great deal of satisfaction, considering that for most of her freshman year she has not been given a game.
GB and I internationals Bronte Law (UCLA), Hayley Davis (Baylor) and Charlotte Thomas (Washington) are placing T31, T42 and T52 respectively in the field of 87 players.
Bronte has had scores of 75 and 71 for 146; Haylet 71 and 77 for 148 and Charlotte 74 and 75 for 149.
