Michele Thomson makes good start to LETAS season in France with a 67
Michele Thomson, a recent winner of the Ladies Tartan Tour, has made a good start to the LETAS season which teed off with the Open Generali de Dinard in Northern France today.
The Ellon, Aberdeenshire-born player, a former Curtis Cup player and past Scottish amateur champion, shot a two-under-par 67 to be one shot behind joint first-round leaders, Sanna Nuutinen (Finland) and English-born Olivia Cowan, an amateur who plays out of Germany where her Liverpool-born father is a golf club head professional.
Thomson dropped shots at the first and third but that did not put her off her game. She went on to birdie the second, sixth, 11th and 18th
England's Eleanor Givens was tied third with Michele on the 67 mark.
Gemma Webster shsot a 72 with three bogeys and 15 pars.
Jane Turner had one birdie, at the 17th, but she had earlier had a double bogey 6 in halves of 43-36.
