Nicola Robertson lying 5th in Carolinas Championship
BROWNS SUMMIT, North Carolina – After two rounds of the Conference Carolinas
Championship, the King University, Tennessee women's golf team still sits atop the
leaderboard with a two-round total of 626 at the Bryan Park course
The Tornado shot 314 in the second round and were led by Anna Walker who is in second place with one round remaining.
Walker carded a team-low 74 in the second round, moving her up to second in the tournament with a total of 153. She is one stroke off the leader, Maddisen Cox of Converse College.
Nicola Robertson (pictured above putting at Deeside GC) from Dunblane, Samantha Taylor from Newcastle and Cortnee Young are also in the top 10 for the Tornado. Robertson is in fifth place with a two-day total of 156 after shooting 79 in the second round while Taylor is ninth after an 80 in the second round for 158. Young carded an 81 in the second round, bringing her tournament total to 159, landing her in 10th place with one round remaining.
Elizabeth Swallow from Berkshire rounded out the King squad with a score of 82. She has a tournament total of 162 and is in 18th place with one round remaining.
Converse's Cox leads holds the individual lead at 152 while the Tornado are atop the team leaderboard at 626.
The tournament concludes with the final round at the Bryan Park Champions Course on Tuesday.
Triple bogey 7 knocks Gemma down to T10
Curtis Cup player Gemma Dryburgh from Aberdeen has slipped down to tied 10th after two rounds of the American Championship over the Hammock Beach's Ocean Course at Palm Court, Florida.
The final-year Tulane University, New Orleans student has had rounds of 71 and 75 for 146.
She had three birdies - third, seventh and 10th - in her third round but the gains were cancelled out by a triple bogey 7 at the 13th.
Alexandra Rossi (SMU) (70-71) and Monifa Sealy (UCF) (70-71) share a two-stroke lead on 141
Central Florida (578) lead the team title race from East Carolina (587). Tulane (598) are seventh of ninth going into the final day.
