Olivia Winning wins, Alice Hewson loses
Alice Hewson lost by one hole to the No 6 qualifier from France, Eva Gilly, in the first round of the match-play stages of the French Under-21 girls championship at St Cloud.
Alice was the 27th qualifier.
Former Helen Holm Scottish open amateur stroke-play champion Olivia Winning from Rotherham reached the last 16 by beating Alejandra Pasarin (Spain) 2 and 1.
Olivia qualified in 10th place to Alejandra's 14th.
