Rachael Walker top Scot at Eagles Landing
Rachael
Walker from Dumfries, a second-year student at Old Dominion University,
Norfolk, Virginia, finished joint 22nd in a field of 83 players at the
John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate tournament at Eagles Landing Country
Club, Creek Lake, Stockbridge in Georgia this week.
Rachael, pictured left,
had rounds of 75, 79 and 78 for an aggregate of 232, 22 shots behind
the winner by two, Fatima Fern Cato (Troy) (72-71-67 for six-under 210).
Three
other Scots in the field, Heather Munro (Elon), a freshman from
Monifieth, Eilidh Watson (Stetson), a freshman from Dollar, and Lesley
Atkins (Louisiana-Monroe), a second-year student and member at Gullane
Golf club, finished joint 29th, 76th and 80th
respectively.
Charlotte Hindmoor (Old Dominion), a third-year student from Darlington, finished on 235 with scores of 78, 76 and 81 for a share of 41st place with Anglo-Scot Paige Kemp (Stetson), a freshman from Essex, whose mother comes from Stirling.
Georgia Price (Florida Gulf Coast), a final-year student from Bude, England, finished T67 on 247 with scores of 83, 84 and 80.
Troy (892) won the team title ahead of Middle Tennessee (897) and Western Carolina (917) with Old Dominion (924) sixth, Elon (927) ninth, Florida Gulf Coast (929) 10th, Stetson (941) 11th and Louisiana-Monroe (944) 13th of 15 teams.
Munro had rounds of 77, 78 and 78 for 233; Watson 87. 77 and 89 for 253, Atkins 91, 95 and 84 for 270.
