RandA Foundation Scholars' Tournament cut to 36 holes at St Andrews

The scheduled 54-hole RandA  Foundation Scholars tournament was reduced to 36 holes when first-round play this morning was impossible over the Eden Course due to fog which also had an effect on the Ladies Tartan Tour event at Montrose and the Scottish boys championship at Dunbar.
The field of 60 did start the event in the afternoon over the Eden Course and the final 18 holes will be played at the Castle Course on Tuesday morning.
The R&A Foundation Scholars Tournament takes place each year in St Andrews and features student golfers who receive financial assistance from The R&A to enable them to continue to play competitive golf while completing their studies.
Paula Grant (Ulster), 21, is bidding to complete a title hat-trick in the women's competition. The former Irish women's amateur was the winner in 2013 and 2014.
