Scot Karis fifth in Aussie amateur major
Innerleithen-born
teenager Karis Davidson, who emigrated to Australia with her family
when she was eight years old, finished a creditable fifth in the
Riversdale Cup, one of the leading Australian women's amateur
stroke-play tournaments, at Riversdale Golf Club, Melbourne this week.
Bad
weather made the par-73 course a tough test over the first two rounds.
Karis shot 77, 82 , 71 and 73 for a total of 303, seven behind the
winner by six, Munchen Keh (77-75-68-76 for 296).
Karis,
the leading Scottish-born player in the women's world amateur rankings
and ranked No 3 in Australia, has been chosen to represent Australia in
the Thunderbirds junior tournament in Arizona in late May.
She has also been named Queensland's women's and girls' player of the 2014-15 golf year Down Under. Karis is pictured above with the latest trophies. Labels: Amateur Ladies
